[Infographic] 4 Ways to find meaningful time to create

Between work, responsibilities, and (let's be honest) Twitter, there are a lot of things keeping you from working on your creative projects. Here's how to make time to create!

While every artist claims they need extra time to create, the truth is you just need to be more efficient with your existing time. Hey, no judgement here. Between responsibilities and distractions, it's easy to lose time. Here are four steps to find it again.

1. Avoid distractions

  • Nearly two-thirds of Americans check their phones 160 times per day.
  • boredom increases creativity and problem-solving (even in free time, distracting yourself impacts creativity)

2. Wake up Early

  • Studies suggest that morning people are more persistent, cooperative, agreeable, conscientious, and proactive.
  • Jason Brubaker wakes up at 4:00 or 5:00am to work

"It didn't matter how bad the day was, because I had already done my business."

3. Define your schedule

  • 'Chunk' your schedule into manageable portions.
  • Humans can only think about four things at once. Don't crowd your brain.

4. Create habits, not plans

  • Consistency breeds confidence
  • It takes an average of 66 days for a task to become a habit
